“Invest in Kids” Scholarship Program
State Website Opens on Tuesday evening,
January 15, 2019 at 7:00PM
Part one of the Empower Illinois application process will be
available at empowerillinois.org. at 7:00PM, on Tuesday, January
15, 2019. The application is a two part process. Part one is a brief
reservation form which will be timestamped.
Schools and families will be notified when part two is available.
Invest in Kids -Scholarship Program
The Illinois State Legislature approved the Invest in Kids Act
which is an income based tax scholarship program to allow
students more choices in education. These K-12 scholarships are
based on financial need, not how well a child does in school.
With this legislation, families are now able to choose to enroll in
a non-public (private) school with scholarship money available
for tuition and necessary fees for the 2019-2020 academic year.
The Invest in Kids Act will be funded by donors who wish to
help Illinois families have a choice in education. If you are in a
position to donate, please consider doing so! Since individuals
will be able to direct their donations to a school or group of
schools, you can help ensure that more families have access to a
great Catholic education.

Note:
Donors will need a Mytax.illinois.gov account to be able to apply for the tax credit. This is an important and potential delay to being able to claim a tax credit. Go NOW to the mytax.illinois.gov site to apply for your account. It mails a letter to the donor to activate the account which can take up to 10 business days to reach the donor.
